With new road…
TOSHOA of Kwebanna Amerindian community in Region One (Barima/Waini), Mr. Troy Peters has reported that the newly built road, linking it to Santa Rosa in Moruca Sub-Region, cut travelling time by eight hours.
He told the Guyana Chronicle that the 22 miles roadway was
constructed by Government through the Region One Administration.
Peters said, previously, it took residents nine hours to travel, by motor vehicle, from Santa Rosa to Kwebanna but now it only takes one hour.
He said the beneficiaries are very thankful to the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) Government for the construction and are looking forward to more work being done on the second phase of the project.
Peters said many persons are now using the route to travel to Waini, Barama, Mabaruma and gold fields.
