TWENTY-TWO-YEAR-OLD Andrew Vigilance (no address given) and Kasan Murray, 25, of Lot 11 Roxanne Burnham Gardens, Georgetown, were yesterday remanded to prison on a joint charge of attempting to commit a felony.
They appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, charged indictably with committing the offence on March 21, when they, allegedly, attempted to break and enter the apartment of Ronald Haniff and steal.
Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, successfully objected to bail for the duo, stating that the accused were caught inside a fenced yard, trying to gain entry into the building.
Defence Counsel Basil Williams failed to secure the grant although he submitted that there is no evidence to prove that the men were inside the place.
He argued that the charge is based on speculation but the case was put off to tomorrow.
The owner of the house, Melda Azeez, who was in the courtroom, said the virtual complainant is her tenant in the upper flat and she was at home when neighbours called the Police to report the burglary attempt.
She said the Police responded and, during a search, discovered that a window had been broken and arrested the two men who were lying in the backyard without shirts.
