The Edward B. Beharry Company awarded prize winners of the “Chico Sweets Valentine’s Promotion” yesterday at its Charlotte Street, Georgetown, Head Office.
The winner of the first prize, a gold chain with a diamond pendant, was Orin Wellington of Westminster, West Bank Demerara, while the second prize of a Blackberry cell phone went to Ms. Ramona Ramah of Diamond New Scheme. The third prize of an all expenses paid trip for two to the Arrowpoint Resort was won by Ms. Yvette Moore of Bachelor’s Adventure.
Ten consolation prizes of food hampers were won by: Ms. Gao Sokhnanadan of South Ruimveldt Park, Ms. Mavis Seepersaud of Middle Road La Penitence, Seion George of Seosdyke, Joy Worrell of St. Stephen’s Street, D. James of Farm, East Bank Demerara, Chandroutie Joseph of First Street, Alexander Village, Dhorpat Narine Sorrah of Johanna, East Bank Demerara, Omati Jaikarran of Stanley Place, Kitty, Real Lovelace Singh of Lamaha Street, and Joy Worrell Stephen’s Street, Charlestown.
The company will be hosting its Annual Champion Baking Powder Kite Flying Competition on April 5 (Easter Monday). Prizes of $25,000 will be awarded to winning kites which will be judged in three categories: over 5ft, under 5ft and the most unusual kite.
The competitions will be held at No.63 Beach, Berbice; Hope Beach, East Coast Demerara, National Park, Georgetown; Joe Veira Park, West Bank Demerara; Suddie Beach, Essequibo; and MSC Ground. Linden.
All kites must display the Champion Baking Powder package. All kites must be able to fly, and judges’ decision is final.
Time of judging is from 14:00 to 16:00 hrs.
