Woman charged with bangle snatch granted bail

LONDELL Layne, 26, of Lot 19 Norton Street, Wortmanville, was yesterday granted $75,000 bail on a larceny from the person charge. She appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson and pleaded not guilty to stealing a gold bangle, valued $75,000, belonging to Manadevi Ramatali on February 25.

Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, said the theft took place in front of Foot Steps on Regent Street, also in Georgetown, when the virtual complainant emerged from the store.

The Prosecutor said, after the jewel was snatched, it was recovered from in the defendant’s pocket.

Layne has to be back in Court on March 23.
