IT has been some years now that the pavilion and other buildings and the fence at the Leonora Park home of one of our famous cricket clubs of yesteryear, have been dismantled.
Since that time the ground has become even unfit for cattle to graze. It is a sad and most unfortunate development, indeed.
But what is equally strange is that there has been a deafening silence as to the future of this once excellent sports facility, and no one seems to care.
Is it that this facility has been sold out to a private entity and if so what was the reason for do? If so could the information on this transaction could be made public.
It would be useful and relieving to those who have a strong historical association and attachment to this facility to be brought up to date on the state of affair with respect to this once wonderful and cherished facility which hosted some of the most exciting cricket matches ever played in Guyana.
What is the state of affair with Leonora Park?
