The shopping trend on the Essequibo Coast is quickly changing as more Essequibians are shopping in supermarkets.
The new development on the Essequibo Coast is as a result of the close partnership between the government and private sector due to the sound and prudent management of the country’s economic policies.
In the commercial centre of Anna Regina Town, two supermarkets are in operation. The Jaigobin’s Supermarket at Henrietta is flocked every day by shoppers from across the Coast and Amerindian communities; and so is the supermarket at Cotton Field.
Reports said at Charity the Alfro Alphonso Group of Companies is investing some $400M to construct a five storeyed modern shopping complex.
The complex, which is currently under construction, will overlook the Pomeroon River.
Meanwhile, at Affiance, the Iman Bacchus Company is also investing millions to construct a modern shopping complex. Construction work has gone a far way on the complex already.
At Suddie, the Jaigobin Company has opened another branch of its supermarket services to the public.
