Link Show 26 from February 20

STAGING of Link Show 26 will begin at the National Cultural Centre (NCC) on Saturday, February 20, from 20:00 h. After then, there will be two shows on Sunday, February 21 at 16:00 h and 20:00 h; Monday, February 22; Wednesday, February 24 and Thursday, February 25.
The 30-odd members of the cast will include veterans like Henry Rodney, Nasim Hussain, Howard Lorrimer, Derek Gomes, Rajan Tiwari, Ajay Baksh, Lavoinne George, Simone Dowding, Sherry Ann Dyal, Sonia Yarde, Sheldon Braithwaite, Michael Ignatius, Troy Parboo and Nicola Moonsammy.
Others returning are Lyndon ‘Jumbie’ Jones, Kijana Lewis, Tishondra Innis, Clement Stanford, Quesi Edmondson, Abigail Brower, Tonaisea Robertson and Theressa Tyson while newcomers are Francis Bailey, Raymond Persaud, Paul and Sean Budnah, Kyle Isaacs and Lynynus Adams.
Link Show 26 is presented by The Theatre Company and GEMS Theatre Productions, with Director Ron Robinson and Producer Gem Madhoo Nascimento.
Nascimento explained that the show satirises prominent Government and Private Sector personalities, situations in the country and anything else that have been national issues.
“No one is spared,” she declared.
Nascimento advised that tickets are now on sale at the NCC and Nigel’s Supermarket.
The first Link Show was staged in December 1981 and it has become a family tradition on an annual basis.
The only satirical production of this kind in Guyana, it has grown in popularity over the years and has become a ‘must see’ in most persons’ calendar, Nascimento said.
