The $30M to fund the protest could gave been put to better use

Mr. Frederick McWilfred, a leading personality behind the mining protest in Bartica, says organisers plan to take the street demonstrations to other parts of the country. Is he saying that he and others behind him are not prepared to abide by existing mining laws of the country?

What is the intent of these protests? Are they intended to raise awareness among miners and other sections of society?

If so, Mr. McWilfred and his backers are being very partial by focusing on only one side of the issue.

Why are they not mobilising miners for training, awareness and other programmes to apprise them of the need to comply and what’s expected of them, instead of protesting?

The $30M the organisers reportedly raised for the protests could have been better spent on mounting training programmes and awareness sessions.
