Footballer gets bail over Police objection

FOOTBALLER Okanie Fraser was granted $80,000 bail yesterday, after he pleaded not guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm.

Police Inspector Sephen Telford, prosecuting before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, had objected to the grant, saying the defendant, of Lot 54 Joseph Pollydore Street, Lodge, Georgetown, has a robbery under arms case pending in another Court.

But the magistrate overruled the objection.
The allegation against Fraser is that, on August 13, 2009, he inflicted grievous bodily harm on Shawn Lashley.
The case has been transferred, also to another Court, for February 10.
