`Hurry Up’ likely to appear on

‘New Year’s Beatings’ Card
PROMOTER of the upcoming ‘New Year’s Beatings’ boxing card Carwyn Holland of Holland Entertainment Promotions (HEP) has revealed that there is a possibility that Leon ‘Hurry Up’ Moore is going to make an appearance in an exhibition bout on fight night which is slated for January, 29 at Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

Moore, who is ranked 46th in the world, is currently in training in Bangkok, Thailand and is gearing up to test his mettle against Marangin Marbun for the vacant Pan Asian Boxing Association (PABA) Super Bantamweight Title in Singapore, on January, 16.

Holland said that this will serve to bolster his attempt to kick off the 2010 boxing calendar with a bang. Guyana’s heavyweight champion Mitchell Rogers’ bout with Anthony Augustine is the headliner on the card which will be supported by the square off between Gwendolyn “The Stealth Bomber” O’ Neil and Sharon “The Spoiler” Warde.

Clive Atwell will make his professional debut against Charlton Skeete while Laurex Benn meets Iwan Azore and Orlan ‘Pocket Rocket’ Rogers comes up against Elton ‘Real Coolie Bully’ Dharry.

This will be Holland Entertainment Promotions’ third internationally televised bout coming in the wake of the Caribbean Boxing Classic which was held at Thirst Park in 2007 and the Caribbean Fury boxing card which was held at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall last year.

Holland said that the card is built around quality fights that are just a precursor to the several championship bouts, which will also be internationally televised, that are currently in the making for this year.

The contracts were signed last Thursday for the card that was originally slated for December but was postponed due to complications HEP faced with securing the arrivals of some of the overseas based contenders.
