PRO-CHANCELLOR of the University of Guyana, Dr. Prem Misir is to present a paper on the theme, ‘Leveraging Knowledge Networks: Global Ink’ at the 8th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) in New Delhi.
The convocation runs from January 7 – 9, 2010, and it will be the fourth time Dr Misir will be in attendance and making a presentation since 2005.
The Government of India, through its Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs and the Confederation of Indian Industry are the architects of the historic annual PBD.
Panelists at this session will include Chancellor and President of the University of Houston, Dr. Renu Khator and Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Kwazulu-Natal, Professor Dasarath Chetty.
Professor Jagdish Bhagwati of Columbia University, New York, will be the first speaker at the launching of the Oration Series.
Seminars on Nanotechnology and property-related issues in the Indian Diaspora will feature at this PBD 2010. President of India, Ms. Pratibha Devisingh Patil will deliver the valedictory address.
Dr. Misir is the author of eight books, and the recipient of the Hind Rattan Award, NRI Society, India.
The Edwin Mellen Press has approved for publication his most recent book manuscript on ethnicity and social exclusion, currently in press
