THE curtain will come down on the 2009 golf season in grand style with the Grand Coastal Inn-sponsored Stableford tournament tomorrow, at the Lusignan Golf Course, East Coast of Demerara.
Tournament coordinator Dr Ram Singh disclosed that all the regular players are expected to compete to mark the end to a very hectic season.
According to Dr Ram Singh, players with a high handicap have a greater chance of winning this tournament because of its format.
He identified Maurice Solomon, Gavin Todd and Brian Hackett as three players who are favourites to win the competition.
All three players have been in top form for 2009 with Todd winning the most recent RRT Enterprises event last weekend.
They will be looking to end the season on a high note.
Also expected to be in contention are Bholawram Deo, William Walker, Christine Suhkram, Joann Deo, Melissa Humphrey, Ronald Bulkan, Carlos Adams, Mike Guyadin, Imran Khan, Ayude Subhan, Avinash Persaud, Ian Gouveia, Lester Alvis, Jerome Khan, Mel Sankies, Chatterpaul Deo, Ayube Aly, Kassim Khan, M. Arjune Mark Lashley and Mohanlall Dinanauth.
There will be attractive prizes for the top three finishers as well as Nearest to the Pin and Longest Drive.
Chief Executive Officer of Grand Coastal Inn, Mukesh Daby, was invited to present the prizes to the outstanding golfers.
Tee-off is at 12:15 h.
