LLOYD Samuels, of Lot 119 Bagotville, West Bank Demerara, was remanded to prison on Monday when he faced charges of attempted murder, robbery under arms and discharging a loaded firearm.
He appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton where particulars of one offence said, on December 1, at Arakaka, North West District, he discharged a loaded firearm at Peter Barnes, with intent to maim, disfigure or cause him grievous bodily harm.
Another allegation said, the same day, Samuels, armed with a gun, robbed Marie Campbell of $300,000 and raw gold, valued $30,000, property of Collie Wilson.
The prisoner also made an appearance before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, where it was alleged that, on December 1, too, he discharged several gunshots at Barnes, with intent to kill him.
Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting in that case, successfully objected to bail for the accused and the cases were transferred to Matthews Ridge Court for February 2, 2010.
The Prosecutor said that Barnes is still hospitalised with injuries to his chest, shoulder and ribs.
