How is it that the trio of criminals on the Soesdyke/Linden Highway is able to abandon a car with fuel, gun and ammo and escape after engaging in a gun fight with a police patrol? This question is prompted by the many times we have read this same story. One time in Buxton, criminals escaped through a back door, although the Disciplined Forces were said to surround them. Active pursuit seems to be optional, depending on circumstances known only to those involved. I am aware that firepower, number of assailants, etc, could justify some of these cases, but not all. Hopefully superiors are asking questions.
