The Opposition media cabal continues to make waves, ostensibly taking the high moral ground with their dossier, the compilation of which makes the antics of Bud Abbott and Lou Castello pale in comparison.
They have attempted to blame the Government for conspiring with Roger Khan to kill victims of the Lusignan massacre, the Bartica massacre, victims of the Buxton uprising, victims of criminals, including the infamous Dale Moore jailbreak gang, the infamous ‘Skinny’ gang, the infamous ‘Blackie’ gang, victims of thieves and criminals across the country, even their own former Agriculture Minister Sash Sawh, his siblings and his guard.
Yet until now one of the leaders of a minor party, whose employee died under questionable circumstances when only he could have been held suspect, but who was never held accountable nor culpable because of ‘fraternity’, has never provided a satisfactory explanation of the circumstances surrounding this suspicious death. Is that victim’s name also on the ‘dossier’?
And what about Walter Rodney, Fr Darke, the Ballot Box Martyrs, Shirley Field-Ridley, Vincent Teekah, the victims of the X-13 Plan and the Kick-Down-the-Door strategy, et al? Surely the PNC and its satellites are concerned about these deaths also? Especially Rupert Roopnarine; so are these names also on the (in)famous ‘dossier’?
And how come there has been no similar outcry by the Opposition cabal about similar charges as those for which Roger Khan was indicted, brought against former army Major David Clarke, who was a part of the State construct? Could it be that the deafening silence in this instance on the part of the Joint Opposition is because of the fact that David Clarke was accused by several persons of aiding and abetting the Buxton criminals (even of re-burying the murdered GuySuCo employees) while he was in charge of “Operation Tourniquet”, an operation which had sought to rid the village of criminals, but which was derailed because of perceived complicity with some elements of the army with the criminals under David Clarke’s command?
Again, how does one forget about the fraud committed and perpetuated on Prakash Persaud by two presidential hopefuls working in collusion with other perpetrators from the legal ‘fraternity’?
When the PNC (and that includes Raphael Trotman, because he was part of the structure then) talks about torture and corruption, then that is the height of hypocrisy, because corruption, with bribes being a major factor, became enshrined and endemic within the national psyche under their watch. How can one forget the major losses of arms and ammunition in the army when the PNC governed the land?
Manipulation, deceit, torture and terror manifested as part of their strategy to obtain and retain administrative power, and the oppression of individuals and business entities until substantial rewards were offered in cash or kind was then the order of the day. That way of doing business has become systemic, despite the liberalisation of the economy by this current administration.
Until today they use no honest means if a dishonest way can be found to engender and foster wealth for themselves. Their party members are just tools they use as cannon fodder, literally and figuratively, while they splurge on themselves and live the high life. Witness the fraud at Globe Trust and the way the investors there were robbed of their savings; and the continuum of robbery committed on the citizens of Georgetown with the non (never?) payment of taxes by the PNC.
They criticise the President of the nation for his travels to attend various international fora intended (with great success) to enhance the national development paradigm without taking heed that one of their members, Hamilton Green, does the same without showing any returns for the expenditure of monies for his various forays into the unknown.
They go on the streets to protest, they hold press conferences to protest, they lobby at international fora to protest, all on the basis that they are models of integrity who would make of this country a land of milk and honey.
They make the laws in Parliament and object, and object, and object, and stymie processes that would take the development of the country forward; yet what about their own morals. Judge them by their past and their tract record. Judge them by the Globe Trust fiasco. Judge them on the tax issue. Judge them on their “Slo’ fiah, mo’ fiah” strategy and the support and encouragement of criminals to make the country ungovernable and destroy the structures of the nation, which derails the momentum of social services provided to the poor and the vulnerable people of this nation.
Judge them by lawmaker and kingmaker Basil Williams, a policymaker and executive of the PNC, and his fellow lawyers and Parliamentarians who are all at executive status in the PNC, who are opposing a Bill to force them to pay their taxes, or to have their licenses to practice withheld.
They clamour for the amenities and facilities that are paid by other people’s taxes but object to paying their own. They object to police policing themselves, but insist on monitoring their own tax payments; but many persons, including Prakash Persaud, have experienced the dishonesty of lawyers, who place ‘fraternity’ above professionalism, integrity and moral conduct. This, in effect, is the quintessential motley crew of ***!!! who wants to become President and aspire to govern this land.
