SHIVRAM Kishram was yesterday sentenced to two weeks imprisonment for assaulting his reputed wife.

He appeared before Magistrate Priya Beharry and pleaded guilty to the charge, which stated that on November 21, he assaulted Bhena Narine.

Police Sergeant Krishnandat Ramana, prosecuting, said the defendant and the virtual complainant live together and on the day in question, the defendant became annoyed when his reputed wife hit his son.

He said as a result the defendant ‘cuffed’ the virtual complainant on her head.
