The owners of a cow named “Susie” got a surprise early Monday morning when neighbours told them that she had given birth to two calves in an empty lot in the neighbourhood.

The Nonpariel, East Coast Demerara residents said that at first they saw one calf then they realised there was another.

The owner, Roopaul Tajepaul, of 184 Section ‘B’, Nonpariel, East Coast Demerara, told the Guyana Chronicle that Susie, the cow, had given birth on two previous occasions, dropping one calf each time.

The calves, a male and a female, seem healthy and were yesterday feeding when this newspaper visited.

Tajepaul added that they have had Susie for five years, and this birth is quite unique.
