Madewini murder case stalled by absent witnesses

At Demerara Assizes…
STATE Prosecutor Ganesh Hira, in the Madewini murder case, yesterday lamented, to Justice William Ramlal at the Demerara Assizes, that he could not go on because none of the Prosecution witnesses were present.

In the dock was Terry Clemkian, who is indicted for the unlawful killing of Michael Roland Beharry, also known as ‘Bickharry’ and ‘Beckharry’ on July 6, 2003, at Madewini, East Bank Demerara.

Hira, successfully applying for an adjournment, told the judge he believes the non-attendance surrounds the familiarity of the civilian witnesses with the accused, to whom they are related.
