Young artiste living up to expectations

I said it before and this young artiste is indeed living up to expectations. I make reference to Miss Jessica Xavier, who, more or less was the life line of the entertainment segment of the just concluded 2009 Miss Guyana Universe pageant after reading the publication reports from the dailies. I reiterate that this artiste has got good potentials and should she take it very seriously (career wise) and go to the next level. I believe that we will be proud. Whatever networking services are available with other overseas musical counterparts, the persons overlooking her should really consider embarking on a project and have her relocated and hopefully she will be able to have a much greater kick start.

I would like to challenge this artiste to take on Cyndi Lauper’s hit “Time after Time” sometime in the near future.

Very importantly, you need to place a lot of emphasis on some original pieces.

As for the selected beauty ambassador to Bahamas making representation for us, I honestly don’t know whether you will be able to stand your ground with the competition that you are about to face, but whatever is your fate, just remember to sell Guyana with the best of your ability.

A word of suggestion to future adjudicators; desist from the run of the mill questions and be very tough with these hopefuls. The organisers should also encourage the next batch from now, that they must begin research and educate themselves on certain topic areas and also push them to get involve with the Toastmasters Club which in my opinion is a great source of help with public speaking. Come next year, I am also certain that any product from that club will be in the top five.

I would have been excited to hear some comments coming from participants on the Low Carbon Development Strategy.
