– 24-year-old allegedly killed by broken tree branch during rain-storm
POLICE in the North West District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a Baramita woman alleged to have been killed by a tree branch on Monday last.
According to police reports, their investigations have so far revealed that 24-year-old Anita Williams and her husband were walking, at about 14:00 h, along a trail leading out of a backdam area during a period of heavy rainfall and high winds.
Police said it was reported to them that a branch broke-off from a tree and fell, striking Williams about the body.
She was pronounced dead on arrival at the Baramita Health Centre.
