THE Essequibo Chapter of Justices of the Peace Association held elections for the 2009-2010 executive last Saturday.

A release said Mr. Deonarine, a retired headmaster and former Regional Executive Officer (REO) of Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam), was re-elected Chairman while Mr. Anwar Ali, executive member of the Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG) retained his position as Secretary.

Insurance agent Mr. Basil Persaud will also serve as Treasurer, again.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) is another retired headmaster, Mr. Maydha Persaud and Mayor of Anna Regina, Mr. Sammy Rampersaud and Toshoa of Capoey, Ms. Valarie DeYounge are committee members.
Returning Officer for the voting was Mr. Rajendra Prabhulall.
