POLICE in Trinidad have charged two men but are hunting three more in the continuing investigations of the recent kidnapping/murder of Guyanese nationals Narad Sukhu, 28, and Tomeshwar Vinod Doobay, 22.
Twenty-three-year-old security consultant Govind Dhanesar and salesman Adesh Maharaj, 35, were remanded to prison, until June 4, when they appeared before Senior Magistrate Nanette Forde-John in Chaguanas Magistrate Court on Monday.
They faced charges of kidnapping and murdering the Guyanese, according to an official at the Guyana Consulate in Trinidad.
The victims, who hailed from Canje, Berbice, lived in St Augustine, Trinidad and did construction work not far from their home.
Reports said they were forcibly removed from their workplace on May 16, in full view of other workers and their bloated bodies, each bearing a gunshot wound to the back of the head, were discovered the next morning, submerged in a river at an abandoned Felicity landfill also in Chaguanas.
Sukhu was cremated at Belgrove crematorium, in Trinidad, too, on May 21 when his parents travelled there while Doobay’s remains were transported back to Guyana the same day for cremation the next day at the crematorium in Reliance, Canje.
