THE Chronicle report on the GPL employee shooting states both that he intervened in an argument and that GPL said that the men were ambushed, which one is true? An ambush may explain why Mr. Peters did not have time to defend himself. Why arenxt operations like these accompanied by at least one police officer to ensure it is done properly and protect all involved? Did the other GPL employees give the police an accurate description of the criminals? Did the police immediately take them around to find the assailants? Does the execution of this ex-police officer make the GPF more alarmed and proactive than reactive? Is this Guyana’s war on terror? Time for better policing now while we wait for security plans to take affect.
