THE junior selection committee of the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) has named a 21-member man squad to represent Berbice in the upcoming GTM Inter- county Under-19 tournament.
The players were selected based on their performance in the recent Diamond Fire and General Insurance Co. Inter-Zone Under-19 tournament and the Spready Under-19 club tournament.
Those selected are Eon Hooper, Harrinarine Chattergoon, Dominic Rickey, Raffel Estriado, Alex Amsterdam, Seon Hetymer, Jonathan Foo, Manoj Poornauth, Joemal La Fleur, Terrence Madramootoo, Sherwin McPherson, Anthony Bramble, Daneshar Ramkissoon, Sahadeo Somai, Trinson Carmichael, Naresh Mahadeo, Clavern Beresford, Raun Johnson, Keyron Fraser, Keon Joseph and Mark Lionel.
The squad will continue training under the watchful eyes of appointed coach Adrian Amsterdam and manager Romesh Munna. The final 14 would be selected just before the start of the GTM tournament.
Meanwhile, the BCB has also named a five-member disciplinary committee to look after disciplinary matters against players and officials.
The committee is headed by Board president Keith Foster and includes Pastor Mark Lyte, Ricardo Bachan, Anil Beharry and Carl Monroe.
Among the areas to be targeted in a no- nonsense approach to indiscipline are drug abuse, alcohol abuse, disrespect for authority, breaking of team curfews, physical fights, abuse of umpires and failure to inform the board of overseas trips.
