Pomeroon farmers complain birds destroying fruits

SOME Pomeroon farmers are complaining that migratory birds from the interior are destroying their fruit crops.

The complainants said the birds are creating havoc, feeding mostly on carambolas, which cannot be harvested once damaged.

Pomeroon is well-known for producing tons of oranges and other citrus, plantains, bananas, coconuts, watermelons, pumpkins, coffee and ground provisions.
