Giftland OFFICEMAX donates hampers to Tiger Bay residents

GIFTLAND OFFICEMAX yesterday donated approximately 100 Christmas hampers at a cost of $200,000 to residents of the Tiger Bay Community at the West End Community Centre.

altSpeaking to the state media, Public Relations Manager of the company, Compton Babb said that this was done in an effort to make the Christmas spending lighter for those persons in the community.
He added that this was the third annual Christmas giveaway to members of the Tigerbay community, noting that last year they were successful in reaching two hundred children with a total donation value of $300,000.
“Most persons would know that Giftland OfficeMax would have been contributing to our community, especially the Tiger Bay community throughout the years. Last year we had made it possible to deliver approximately $300,000 in food hampers and toys as well,” Babb related.
According to him, most of the items in the hampers are grocery items such as milk, flour, sugar, margarine among others.
He added that in addition to these grocery items, this year the hampers also consist of books and other educational items for children.alt
Babb noted that according to a census conducted by the company, the Tiger Bay community has approximately 92 households. “Last year we would have had more persons but we find that persons would have moved out, so the residents have decreased this year,” he said.
In addition to receiving these food hampers, the residents of the Tiger Bay community were also treated to snacks and drinks, as well as performances by Michelle ‘big red’ king and ‘chow pow.’
Meanwhile, Marketing Representative of Giftland OfficeMax, Devon Brown, informed that today there’s a promotion at the store where they will be offering 30 percent of all video games, along with half price on certain video game accessories.
Customers will be able to get 15 Digital Versatile Discs (DVD’s) or Compact Discs (CD’s) for $2000.
Additionally, with the purchase of five blue Ray Discs for $5000, customers will get one free.
