SPL looking to expand regional exports

SIGNIFICANT growth in exports and penetration of new markets in the Caribbean has seen Sterling Products Limited (SPL) being honoured with the Presidential Award for Export Achievement. The company received the accolade at the recently held Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association (GMSA) Annual Presentation Dinner at the Pegasus Hotel.

altSPL’s Chief Executive Officer, Ramsay Ali, said the company is working towards further expanding its exports throughout the region.
“We have seen major progress in getting our products onto the shelves of businesses in the Caribbean, and the Presidential Award for Export Achievement is testament to our commitment to continue making strides in this regard.”
SPL, Ali added, is very proud to be the recipient of this prestigious award; an honour resulting from the company’s diligent marketing strategy.
Export Sales Manager, Dwayne Yan, said the company’s exports to Trinidad and Tobago have grown significantly over the last year and SPL has been successful in penetrating the Barbados market. These achievements, he pointed out, were the main reasons behind SPL being honoured with this significant accolade.
“Our Umda Phalka Ghee is now one of the leading brands in Trinidad and Tobago and we have been highly successful in breaking into the Barbados market with our edible fats line of products,” Yan said.
SPL’s Finance Controller, Deodat Indar, during a radio interview on Outlook – 100.1 Fresh FM, on November 21 said the company is working on several initiatives that will see the arrival of new products on the market, as well as improvements to those already available. He said SPL’s commitment to product excellence, as well as the company’s interest in the development of its human resources is integral to the continued growth and development of the organisation.
