A FIRE that erupted aboard the Liza Unity FPSO was quickly extinguished following the initiation of the appropriate response procedures, ExxonMobil Guyana said in a statement on Sunday.

Based on a statement from the company, there was no extensive damage or injuries.

“Heat detectors aboard the Liza Unity FPSO were activated in the laundry room of the living quarters, indicating a small fire, which was quickly extinguished.

“The appropriate response procedures were initiated.

“All personnel aboard the vessel are safe and accounted for,” the statement said.
