WICUA Biennial Convention to be hosted in T&T

THE West Indies Cricket Umpires’ Association (WICUA) 6th Biennial Convention will be held in Trinidad and Tobago during the week of June 28 – July 6, 2013. It is to be attended by Umpires from the ten-member territories comprising of Barbados, Canada, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Guyana, Jamaica, Leeward Islands, Trinidad & Tobago, United States and Windward Islands.
The WICUA will be using this convention to celebrate its 50th anniversary. Established in June 1962, the association is bonded by the theme ‘Celebrating Milestones – Achieving Success’.
The convention will start with an Inter-faith Church service on Sunday June 30, followed by Flag Raising and Opening Ceremony on Monday July 1.
A General Council meeting and the Business session will see discussions on a wide range of issues on Cricket and Cricket Umpiring as it impacts the West Indies and the World. A basic ingredient of the convention is a cricket match to be played between the host country umpires and the rest.
The Convention culminates with the President’s Banquet and Awards Function on Friday, July 5
