secures passes in 26 subjects
IN a quiet corner of Region Two, a young man named Pradesh Kevic Dwarka has turned his dreams into reality through sheer determination, unwavering perseverance, and the support of those who believed in him.
At just 16 years old, Pradesh has emerged as the top performer at this year’s Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examination, securing an astounding 26 subjects—23 of which he achieved with grade ones and 3 with grade twos.
Pradesh’s story is one of transformation. Born and raised in Lot 10 Reliance, on the Essequibo Coast, he is the second son of Ganesh and Shazeena Dwarka.
His father is a businessman, and his mother is the proud owner of Payless General Store. Their home, filled with love and support, has been the bedrock upon which Pradesh’s success has been built.
However, the path to academic excellence was far from easy. Pradesh’s journey began with the difficult transition from regular schooling to the intense demands of his study schedule.
The shift was jarring, and at times, it felt as though he was stepping into a new life entirely. The long days, beginning at the crack of dawn and ending late at night, were spent attending lessons along the coast. The isolation from the comfort of his home weighed heavily on him, and homesickness became a constant companion.
Despite these challenges, Pradesh remained resolute. He knew that the financial strain of private tutoring was a burden his parents bore with silent strength. This awareness fuelled his determination to make their sacrifices worthwhile. Exam time brought with it sleepless nights and the relentless pressure to excel, yet Pradesh found solace in the unwavering support of his family and a small circle of close friends.
His elder brother, Kevin Dwarka, played a particularly significant role, offering words of encouragement that lifted Pradesh’s spirits during his darkest moments. The success of previous scholars and the pride that radiated from their parents also served as powerful motivators, pushing Pradesh to achieve greatness and make his family proud.
As he reflects on his achievements, Pradesh is quick to express his gratitude. “Numerous people deserve thanks, especially my family, who were the foundation of my success,” he says. His small but steadfast circle of friends also received praise for their unwavering support.
For his parents, the pride they feel is immeasurable. His mother, Shazeena, recalls his childhood determination and dedication with fondness, qualities that have now come to full fruition.
Pradesh’s story is not just about academic success; it is a testament to the power of perseverance, the value of a strong support system, and the incredible achievements that are possible when one refuses to give up. His journey stands as an inspiration to young people everywhere: no dream is too big if you are willing to work hard, face your challenges head-on, and lean on those who care about you.
Success, as Pradesh’s story shows, is not merely a product of talent; it is born from resilience, determination, and an unshakeable belief in one’s ability to achieve greatness.
