A MAN appeared in court yesterday, charged with damaging property belonging to his brother and threatening him.
The defendant, Muneshwar Persaud, of Lot 21 First Street, Alexander Village, Georgetown, made his appearance before Magistrate Sueanna Lovell and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
One charge said, on January 27, he made use of threatening language to his brother, Deonarine Persaud and the same day, unlawfully and maliciously damaged three louvre window panes and three plastic chairs, valued $10,000, belonging to Deonarine.
The virtual complainant said his sibling is in the habit of consuming alcohol and behaving bad and, whenever he drinks, he would destroy things in the home.
The defendant was placed on $18,000 bail for the threatening language and $15,000 on the damage to property charge, until February 27.
