TYRON Modeste is thanking God for sparing his life after he lost control of the vehicle he was driving and toppled into a trench on the Abram Zuil Public Road, around 06:30 hours on Tuesday. Modeste, a resident of Charity Back Street, and his friend were heading north along the roadway in motorcar, PMM8897, when the accident occurred. Both men escaped unhurt. Residents in the area recalled hearing a loud impact and upon investigating, they saw a car in a nearby trench. They told the Guyana Chronicle that Modeste and his friend were observed shaking after the accident. The friend was taken to the Suddie Public Hospital, but according to information reaching this newspaper, he had no injuries. Meanwhile, Modeste, up to late Tuesday night, was still in police custody.
