SEVEN male teams and two female sides will clash on Sunday in a volleyball extravaganza and fun day, as the National Milling Company of Guyana Inc. (NAMILCO) celebrates its 50th anniversary.
The Independence Day battle, organised by the Berbice Volleyball Association (BVA), serves off at 09:00hrs at the Albion Estate Sports Complex and teams will battle for trophies, medals and other incentives.
Among the teams scheduled to participate are Rollers, #52 Survivals, #47 Challengers, Port Mourant Training Centre (PMTC), Three Doors Strikers, Black Bush and Port Mourant females.
In April, when the BVA teams last battled, the (PMTC) ‘A’ team and the Port Mourant females were crowned champions of the BVA ‘B’ division.
Eight male teams (Number 52 Survivors, PMTC ‘A’, PMTC ‘B’, Rollers, Black Bush Polder Gemini, D’Edward Three Doors Strikers, Number 47 Challengers and Castrol Strikers) and two female teams (Port Mourant females and Castrol Strikers) had taken part in that competition, which was held at the GUYSUCO Apprentice Hostel compound.
