THE Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) in collaboration with Banks DIH Limited will be staging the second annual national table tennis championship at Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH) and the National Gymnasium, commencing today at 16:00hrs. On the junior leg of the championships players under the ages of 10, 13, 15 and 18 will compete from today and to Sunday at e CASH, while the seniors will do battle for supremacy December 15 – 18 at the National Gymnasium.
The Official Opening Ceremony of this year’s championships will be held tomorrow at CASH from 11:00hrs.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Dr Frank Anthony, Director of Sport Neil Kumar, and president of the GTTA and Commissioner of Police Henry Greene DSS, DSM, will all deliver remarks at the opening ceremony.
Judging from the Caribbean Championships, and the recent Digicel National Schools Championships and the Inter-Organisation Championships, truly exciting play, keen rivalry and intense competition can be expected.
