A MAN was killed at Back Street, Grove, East Bank Demerara (EBD) on Wednesday morning after accusing his friend of having a sexual relationship with his wife who moved out recently and now lives at Timehri, EBD.
The police are investigating the murder of Rohan “Khanhai” Persaud, 53, unemployed of Samatta Point, Grove, EBD, which occurred between 01:00hrs-06:30hrs on Wednesday.
The body, which was found with a wound to the lower abdomen, is at the Lyken’s Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem.
Police have since arrested two suspects who were last seen in the company of the victim.
Reports indicate that the two brothers, who lived together in Grove Housing Scheme, separated a few weeks ago after a domestic dispute. One of them stayed with Rohan Persaud.
Persaud was living with his reputed wife and it is alleged that his friend, who recently moved in, was having a sexual relationship with his wife.
Due to this, Persaud and the suspect were constantly engaged in quarrels and this caused the wife to take up residence with relatives at Timehri, EBD.
However, on Wednesday, Persaud was walking with the suspect and an associate when the suspect accused him of being a “Sweet man” and of having sexual intercourse with his reputed wife.
As a result, a scuffle ensued between the two, during which it was alleged that the suspect took a stingray bone and stabbed Persaud to his abdomen, causing him to drop dead.
