T&T start Under-15 title defence against Guyana

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC) – Title-holders Trinidad and Tobago will open the defence of their regional Under-15 Championship when they meet Guyana in their opening match at the Inshan Ali ground here Saturday.
Also in the first round, Windward Islands face Jamaica at Munroe Road while Leeward Islands take on Barbados at the National Cricket Centre.

All matches will last two days with the champion crowned after five rounds of the round robin tournament.
Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board president, Azim Bassarath, said he was looking forward to the tournament and was pleased his board could play a part in the development of the game at the regional level.
“We see this stage as very critical and we have been able to come forward and host this tournament as a regional tournament,” he said.
Teams are scheduled to arrive here tomorrow and will have one day of practice on Friday before the tournament gets going.
