–on firearm, drug trafficking charges
A CRAIG Street, Campbellville couple was on Friday remanded to prison on a series of firearm and drug trafficking charges, following a police raid at their home where the illegal items were found stashed in the ceiling.
David Daygoo, 39, and his reputed wife, Nicola Lambert, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan on four firearm-related charges and one count having to do with drug trafficking.
Particulars of the charges alleged that on January 24 at Craig Street, Campbellville, the couple had in their possession eight 12-gauge cartridges;35 x 7.62mm rounds of ammunition; and a 9mm Glock pistol, along with 13 rounds of matching ammunition.
It is also alleged that the couple had in their possession 304 grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
The couple denied the charges, and their attorney, Patrice Henry made an application for reasonable bail. The magistrate paid no heed and remanded the couple until February 14.
