SACHIA Vickery advanced to the Round of 64 at this year’s US Open, after defeating Russian Natalia Konstantinovna Vikhlyantseva yesterday.

After losing the first set 4-6, Vickery rebounded to win 6-4, 6-1.
Vickery will face another Russian, Sofia Kenin tomorrow (August 30) as she continues her great run at the US Open. This is the second time Sachia is playing in the Main Draw of the US Open
The now 22-year-old Vickery, ranked 154, won her first US Open main-draw match as an 18-year-old, and according to www.tennis.com, the diminutive player said she’s familiar with Kenin, stating “we actually live five minutes from each other in Florida.”
“We practise almost every single day, so definitely familiar with each other,” Vickery said.
This is Vickery’s second outing at the US Open, having featured in the Australian Open, the French Open (2016) and Wimbledon (2015).
