EVEREST Cricket Club (ECC) completed an outright victory over hosts Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) on Sunday when play in the GISE, Star Party Rentals and Trophy Stall First Division tw0-day tournament resumed.
Scores in the match are: Everest 271-9 declared and 53-1; and GCC 125-9 innings closed and 198 all out.
Batting first on day one, GCC were restricted to 125-9 at the close of their innings, with first-class leg-spinner Amir Khan dominating proceedings for Everest, with figures of 5-31 from 10.4 overs, while Martin Pestano-Belle with 43 and Stephon Wilson with 25 were the principal scorers for GCC.

In reply, three wickets apiece for left-arm spinners Devon Lord and Wilson did not prevent Everest from building a healthy lead of 146.
First class players Chandrapaul Hemraj 84, Tagenarine Chanderpaul 76, and Amir Khan 55, all scored half-centuries to guide their team to a formidable first-innings total.
By close on Saturday, GCC had already started their second innings, and were 19 without loss, still trailing by 127 runs.
They added a further 179 runs, with skipper Robin Bacchus leading the way with 51, inclusive of three sixes and two fours, while Lord and Marlon Persaud contributed 33 and 22 respectively.
Ashkaya Persaud, 4-39 from 12 overs, and Javed Rasheed, 4-44 from 15.3 overs, were the destroyers as Everest raced to 53-1 in 7.5 overs to claim victory.
