JERMAINE Jeffer, the fourth suspect to be charged and placed before the court in connection with the shooting to death of Orin David, called “Malik,” at Laing Avenue, was on Friday charged with murder and appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.Jeffer was not required to plead to the indictable charge which alleged that on August 1, 2016, at Laing Avenue, Georgetown, he murdered David. The unrepresented man was remanded until February 15.

Negus Lamaizon, of 51 D’Urban Street and Samuel McIntyre are also jointly charged for the same offence. The preliminary inquiry for the duo is being held before Magistrate Dylon Bess.
Howard Rambarose was nabbed last Christmas Eve by police in Agricola, East Bank Demerara, after returning from Suriname; he was the third person charged for the offence.
In May, Rambarose was freed of a drug-trafficking charge by Magistrate Judy Latchman and in 2015, he was freed of two multi-million dollar armed robbery charges by Magistrate Fabayo Azore.
David was gunned down in front of his Lot 89 Laing Avenue, Georgetown home around 15:00 hrs, in the presence of his reputed wife and other relatives. The 33-year-old man was pronounced dead at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
