Kaieteur News article ‘a pack of lies’

I am in Guyana to attend the funeral of my sister, Sheilaviti Ramlal.
My other sister and I who are in Guyana write strongly to protest the publication of the article in the Kaieteur News on October 26, 2010, concerning my sister and my brother-in-law, Deolall Ramlall.

That article is “highly inaccurate and nasty”. Have you ever heard about a “pack of lies?”  Well, that article can be described as that.
That brother–in-law of mine, Deolall Ramlall, is the one who looked into our welfare after the deaths of our parents many years ago. To date he is still very close and dear to us.

What are you trying to achieve by such a publication? Lies make the fabrication popular but tarnish the image and character of the person targeted.

Have you ever considered the damage you have done to the reputation of someone who is known widely to be otherwise? Conduct an intellectual research and you would know.

What benefit will you (KN) get by peddling such lies?

My sister was married to my brother-in-law for 40 years and they remained together until she died. The mother of his three children is my sister Sheila. He has no ‘outside children’.

I repeat ‘no outside children’.

I lived with them for a number of years. Kaieteur News did not interview any member of the family but yet that newspaper published its ‘lies’ and ‘inaccuracies’.

God help those who connect strifes with ‘lies’ to secure financial or other gains.

I request that Kaieteur News delete all lies from that article immediately for we have all intentions to take every possible legal action to have that newspaper withdraw the article completely, publish the truth and pay for the ‘damages’.

I urge Kaieteur News to advise its reporters to deal with ‘truths’ and not ‘fabrication’.

My brother-in-law is now otherwise occupied but will address the issue shortly. I know him as a rational thinking and cool person.

We hope that better judgement will prevail and Kaieteur News will withdraw the article and apologise promptly. How could the KN reporter, in a moment of grief to this family, besmirch the character of the husband? This shows how uncaring people can be.
If KN has an axe to grind with GECOM then do not manipulate pieces of information about staff members and fabricate stories for the benefit of Kaieteur News.
Finally, consider the hymn ‘What a friend we have in Jesus’ and consider this statement, ‘What a friend we have in Kaieteur News!’
