OWNER of Wireless Connections, Maxwell Thom appeared in Court yesterday on a charge of unlawfully assaulting his wife, Shelly Thom.
The defendant, 42, of Lot 1606 Cadet Lane, South Ruimveldt Park, Georgetown, after pleading not guilty, was released on his own recognisance until October 25.
Before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, it was alleged that the businessman, last October 8, at their home, unlawfully assaulted the virtual complainant, so as to cause her actual bodily harm.
Attorney-at-law Mr. Anil Nandlall, for the Defence, said the absence of the assault victim is an indication that the couple intend to resolve the matter.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, is to report on the case when Thom makes his next appearance.
