A MIXED jury at the Demerara Assizes was Wednesday empanelled to begin trial of Ganga Persaud for attempting to murder Sumintra Rampersaud on July 28, 2009.The offence is alleged to have been committed at Zeelugt, West Coast, Demerara.
The accused who had pleaded not guilty is expected to conduct his own defence.
The prosecution, headed by Miss Narissa Leander, will deliver the opening address to the jury when the trial resumes today.
