TWO employees of Jerries Restaurant and Bar, in Georgetown, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson yesterday, charged with assaulting each other.
Anil Singh, 23, pleaded not guilty to having unlawfully assaulted Louisa Da Silva, so as to cause her actual bodily harm on June 14.
Da Silva, 20, also denied the unlawful assault of Singh.
Singh (no address given either) told the Court he was off duty but at the work place observing, as his boss expects him to do.
He said he saw Da Silva lingering in the bar and her attitude upset him but, when he asked her to leave, she attacked him with a bottle and he held her hands in the attempt to defend himself.
However, Da Silva claimed she was requested to work in the bar and Singh ordered her out and, because she challenged his authority, he pulled her by the hair.
Singh was put on $25,000 bail and Da Silva on $7,000 before the cases were put off to July 30.
