Unidentified pedestrian killed at Diamond

Police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred Tuesday, at about 19:45hrs, on the Diamond Access Road, East Bank Demerara.
Dead is an unidentified male pedestrian.

Investigations revealed that the pedestrian was struck down by a motor car, the driver of which lost control of the vehicle and ended up in a trench.
The pedestrian was taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Alicia Wahab, of Diamond, who was an occupant of the motor car, received injuries and is a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
The driver of the vehicle is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
The deceased is of East Indian descent, age about 50 years, thin built, height about 6 feet, and wearing a blue tee shirt, white long pants, and a pair of brown sandals. The body is at the Lyken Funeral Parlour.
