ANDREW `Six Head’ Lewis was on a rampage early in his career. The power-punching southpaw had stopped all five opponents leading up to his battle with South Korean Han Kim at the National Sports Hall on June 26, 1994.Kim and Lewis battled to a technical draw in round two. Lewis had fought a total of 10 rounds in his five previous fights. He debuted in February 1993 and knocked out Fitzroy Davidson in round two of a scheduled four-rounder.
Eight months later, Patrick Farley succumbed to the heavy-handed welterweight from Albouystown. Farley took the bow in round four. While Lewis took two rounds to get rid of Calvin John in December 1993, Rockford Abrams and Benjamin Modeste both found rest during the first round.
Lewis became Guyana’s first world title-holder after defeating American James Page in February 2001. His first loss in the professional ranks occurred when he came against Nicaraguan Ricardo Mayorga in March 2002.
