THE Ministry of Education (MoE), through its Secondary Sector, has successfully conducted a one-day training workshop for participants of the CAPE® Ambassadors Programme.

This initiative, according to an official MoE press release, aims to strengthen the promotion and support of the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE®) programme in secondary schools across Guyana.

The training workshop was held on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at the Media Room of The Bishop’s High School. It brought together designated teachers and representatives from CAPE® schools to equip them with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to serve as ambassadors within their respective regions.

The workshop focused on strengthening participants’ understanding of the CAPE® programme and enhancing their capacity to engage students, parents and school communities. Key areas covered included effective communication and student engagement strategies, conducting school outreach visits and presentations, and monitoring, reporting and documentation procedures.

Participants were also guided in developing regional action plans to coordinate outreach activities, identify priority schools, establish targets, assign responsibilities, and monitor progress. These plans are expected to support a more structured and coordinated approach to promoting CAPE® and increasing awareness of the opportunities available through the programme.

The CAPE® Ambassadors will play an important role in serving as links between the Ministry of Education, schools, students, and parents. Through school visits, presentations, and direct engagement, they will help students make informed decisions about pursuing CAPE®, including understanding subject combinations, programme requirements, benefits, and possible career pathways.
