Did Nigel London threaten the national intelligence chief?

LIVE streaming from his car on Friday morning, here is what Nigel London said about the Head of Special Branch, Mr. Prem Narine: “You have more trouble coming to you. If not today, tomorrow, it shall happen unless you go underground or in the grave.”
First thing to note is that Mr Narine was not involved in an antagonistic relationship with any person or institution prior to Azruddin Mohamed driving outside his home in the night surveying Narine’ s house. Prior to this incident, Narine testified like any other state witness in a criminal case.
What trouble should come the man’s way? Is London saying that because Narine was a witness in Mohamed’s extradition trial, he should be targeted? And can any citizen remain within the law if he/she openly threatens the head of national intelligence?
Nigel London, a so-called pastor, is one of the leaders of the political party named Forward Guyana headed by Amanza Walton who is a parliamentarian. London will have one year in Parliament as part of the 2025 election pact with Forward Guyana and his party, the People’s Movement.
You listen to this man last Friday morning and the ignorance of homo sapiens calls into question the viability of civilisation. From the time I started reading philosophy books, I stopped being a believer and when I see people like London masquerading as a messenger of God, then I am firm in my conviction of not being a believer.
Let’s examine the asininity and ignorance of London. First, Mr Narine was not the aggressor in an incident involving Azruddin Mohamed. The man was in his house and it was Mohamed who drove up in a heavily tinted vehicle and allegedly began filming the man’s residence.
This is not a non-state employee or an ordinary citizen. This man holds one of the most sensitive positions in any government.
How do you expect him to react when someone that he has testified against in the most high-profile criminal case in the country, appears outside his home in the night in a vehicle with opaque windows and began filming his house? In which country in the world a citizen could arrive at night time in a heavily tinted vehicle and start to film the private residence of the country’s spy chief? That will be met with immediate arrest and will be treated as a matter involving national security.
Secondly, drowning in abundant ignorance, London stated that one can film in a public space. How can someone get involved in politics and will soon become a parliamentarian be so ignorant?
The US Embassy is on a public road – Young Street. Let London go and film the US Embassy and he may find himself facing an extradition charge. The official residence of the president is situated on three public roads – Main, Carmichael and New Market Streets. Let London go with a camera and film the president’s home and see if he will not end up being questioned at Eve Leary.
Camp Ayanganna, the GDF’s head office is on a public road – Thomas Road. Let London go in front of that sensitive building and film it. As soon as he begins to film, some soldiers with white helmets with the words, MP (military police) will haul him into the compound and he will spend overnight in custody.
It is unlimited ignorance for anyone to say that free speech exists without conditions in the world. If you cry fire in a crowded cinema and people die in the stampede, you should face the death penalty. Who told London you can take a camera and film anything you want to, once you are in a public space?
This is the same London, and his acolytes in opposition parties and friends in civil society who sermonise to Guyanese on a daily basis that there are no rights in Guyana. Yet London can use words against the spy chief that could be interpreted as a threat.
The Village Voice, the Kaieteur News, Kiskadee Watch, HGPTV, Red Thread, the Guyana Human Rights Association, Transparency International- Guyana Inc, OGGN, We The People, The Usual Suspects, The Lunatic Fringe and an ocean of their acolytes berate the government on a daily basis in which fiction becomes poison and poison becomes cancerous, and the band plays on.
There was no shortage of anti-government cussing down when the MV Barima ferry sank. There was shortage of anti-government cussing down when SOCU Head, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. Karimbaksh got into a controversy. There is no shortage of anti-government cussing down in Guyana today. But those who enjoy the freedom to cuss down the government, say Guyana has no freedom.
