ANSA McAL and The ANSA McAL Foundation have awarded three non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Georgetown, signalling their intention to invest G$20 million in programmes designed to create impact for youth and support education in communities across Guyana.
The awards were presented on Tuesday at the Cara Lodge by Troy Cadogan, Country Head for Guyana and Suriname.

They follow a national call for social investment proposals issued in May, which drew more than 40 submissions, according to a press release from ANSA McAL.
The applications went through a rigorous selection process that included site visits to shortlisted NGOs and a capacity-building workshop before the three recipients were chosen. Guyanese social development consultant Tiffany Kirton supported both the site visits and the workshop.
Blossom Inc. received the largest award, G$10 million, to implement a year-long education-equity initiative for vulnerable youth between the ages of 12 and 26 in Region Seven.
Project New Nation was awarded G$5 million to roll out a youth career-guidance programme in Bartica.
Tamùkke Feminists will also receive G$5 million to produce a video series aimed at strengthening the voices of young women in the Wapichan indigenous community in the South Rupununi.
The awards, the company said, represent a commitment by ANSA McAL and the foundation to support the three initiatives, which target young people and education in communities across the country.
