MALCOLM Morris produced a blistering century to guide Sophia Cricket Club to an emphatic 85-run victory over Positive Foundation Agricola in the GCA Panther Security Inc. Second Division tournament on Saturday morning at the Police ground.
Morris was the standout performer, smashing 112 off just 60 deliveries, including 13 fours and six sixes, as Sophia posted a compelling 198 for seven in their allotted 20 overs.
After Dwayne Peters fell for a duck on the first ball, Morris took charge, combining aggression with consistency to put Sophia in a strong position.
Garth Allen (18) and Omario Allen (17) chipped in.
Chasing 199, Positive Foundation Agricola struggled to establish themselves against a disciplined Sophia bowling attack.
Joshua Grant struck early and finished with three wickets for 28 from three overs, but Garth Allen delivered the decisive blow, taking four wickets for 10 in 2.1 overs.
Nasrudeen Ally top-scored for Agricola with 27 from 25 balls, while Shawn Thompson made 23.
Shaquille Leung provided late fireworks with an unbeaten 21 from just seven deliveries, including two fours and two sixes.
However, the late hitting could not change the outcome, as Agricola were dismissed for 113 in 15.1 overs.
